Protocols are provided for vacuum or centrifugation applications. Both protocols are fast and result in high yield, high purity DNA which is suitable for use in molecular biology procedures. DNA fragments (ranging from 100 bp to 10 kb) from PCR reactions bind to the membrane in the plate supplied with the kit. Subsequent wash steps remove residual primers, nucleotides, enzymes, and salts. Following wash steps, DNA is eluted in a low salt buffer at high concentration and is suitable for further molecular operations without additional processing.

Applied Biosystems, MDS Sciex introduce Mass Spectrometer
Applied Biosystems, an Applera Corporation business, together with its partner MDS Sciex announced the release of the API 5000 LC/MS/MS System, the latest addition to its API family of triple quadrupole analyzers. This mass spectrometer is for small molecule quantification, which is essential for DMPK and ADMET studies. The system sets a new industry standard by achieving an average nine-fold increase in sensitivity and four-fold improvement in signal-to-noise ratio over other commercially available systems.
